We got snow....finally!

I don't know if you can make Brad out in this picture, but he is snow blowing the neighbor's driveways. Once he does one; he doesn't know how to stop! We had a blast playing out in the snow. Met some of the neighborhood kids that live behind us. Fun times!

Grace, Rice and Chinese Video!

I think by the time Olivia is 16 my house won't be big enough for all of her picture albums. Ever since we went to Carmel High School's "Year of the dragon", celebrating the Chinese New Year she is fascinated by how Chinese people talk. When we were at the festival a few weeks ago she asked me " do all these people come from Chinese?". This is also the prayer she says before her snack at school. I love watching her pray, her eyes close so intently...there are so many times that I open my eyes and just soak in her innocence and listen to her love Jesus. We are having an off day today, she is sick with about 103.5 fever; Dr Scott thinks she has the early stages of Croup.

Gotta get'em up!

My dad used to tell me that most mornings before school "Gotta get'em up", sure enough that's what I was doing this morning to Brad and Olivia. She had pre-school and well ya know he had to get to work. What you are seeing in this picture is very normal. Brad loves to get up early around 6:00 am and go into her room and cuddle with her. I thought this picture was funny b/c Olivia has her taggie over her head. We had a talk the other day that her dear old "tag" was going to have to stay in her bed once she turns four. Lately, we have also been discussing the concept of strangers. When our building manager came over yesterday she asked him " are you a stranger"; Tom said "yes I am". Kind of funny, than we had another talk about not asking strangers if they are strangers. And the questions..well they keep coming.

Thanks

We went to Easton, Ohio this weekend to have Brad's belated Christmas Party. We had a great time and it was fun getting to meet his co-workers. Brad was in meetings all day on Friday, so I got to go shopping at the mall. We all met up for dinner and drinks later. As you can see in this picture Brad was the recipient of this Nike shirt. Thank you Mema and Papa for coming down and taking care of Olivia. The picture of Olivia in her black tights is her imagining she is an Incredible. She found my old nylons, pretty funny!

A playdate with a new neighbor

Chilling

I thought this picture was cute of Olivia, Jackson and Bitty Baby watching Curious George together. Olivia brings Bitty Baby everywhere. The other day we were driving and I had to pull over to buckle bitty baby in properly.

Olivia and Todd Parr video

Olivia loves to read books by Todd Parr. We have read them to her so much that she basically has the two books that we have memorized as you can see here. These books are great ways to talk about feelings, and have led to great chats about "why people are the way they are" and they are silly too. She loves the picture of the little boy eating macaroni and cheese in the bath tub, and the one where their is a person in a wheelchair. Now I do have to say when we were in Target awhile back we saw a woman in a wheelchair. Olivia said pretty loud and pointed "Hey she is in a wheelchair mama". We got back home and re-visited the book to talk further about being private and not letting everyone in the store hear. Too funny.

Special Pancakes

I am picking up where we left off from Olivia's baby site. I enjoyed doing that website immensely, but it was getting to be rather costly. So, here goes....
Here is Olivia eating pancakes. Every morning she eats them. Everyday her daddy cuts them into people, shapes, objects, you name it he makes them. (Examples of past pancakes would be the yellow submarine, Dora, octopus, her name.) He is quite the artist. She has even taken to cutting them herself too. Yesterday she made me a turtle, and said to Brad " I tried making a walrus, but that was too hard". He also uses chocolate chips and marshmallows to decorate. What a fun memory they are making. When she doesn't want pancakes that means the child is sick. This whole concept of Blogging to me is awesome. It makes my heart happy to think one day Olivia can look back and read through this chronicle and gain insight into what our family life was like.
